Attitude Adjustment

"Feelings are not facts!"

There are three components that make up an attitude: 1) thoughts, 2) feelings, 3) behaviors.

To obtain an attitude about something, all 3 components are present. For instance: "I feel frustrated that I won't be able to make any changes to help make my life more simple because I just don't have the time." (therefore you do nothing)

So, in order to change your negative attitude into a positive one, your thoughts, feelings and behavior needs to change.

Where do you start?

Which one do you change first? your feelings? your thoughts? your behavior?

So are you going to wait until you "feel" confident before you make any changes?

Are you going to say to yourself? "I am making some changes right now!"

Have you ever heard the expression: "bring the body and the mind will follow"?

It has been my experience that when I go ahead and make the behavior change, then my feelings and thoughts begin to change, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly!

So...

Begin making some changes, small ones at first. See how your thoughts and feelings can change from negative to positive. Then keep going!!! You can change how you feel about yourself and others in just a very short time.

Remember:
Try as much as possible to be wholly alive, with all your might, and when you laugh, laugh like hell and when you get angry, get good and angry. Try to be alive. You will be dead soon enough. - William Saroyan
