How to make your envirionment comfortable
Are you aware that your surroundings could be affecting how you feel? Did you know that "lavender" is not only a soothing color it is also a relaxing, get centered "smell"? Having fresh flowers in your home may add not only color, flowers may help to start your day off in a great place, even though you may be in a hurry. Place them in an entry way or right on the coffee table. Or you may want to buy a bouquet for someone! (maybe for yourself!) You may even want some lavender oil on your desk at work. Ten seconds to smell lavender may be just what is needed during a stressful day with the boss. Or maybe you ARE the boss! Try some aromatherapy and experience a difference!
Are you aware that environmental wellness could affect you emotionally as well as physically? Make your surroundings, your home, every place you go, as stress free and as comfortable as you possibly can! You deserve to be comfortable! Make your environment a reflection of who you are! Your home really is your castle! It does not matter where or what kind of a home you live in. MAKE IT YOU!!!
How about in your car? Try some relaxing music when driving home from work. Attempt to let go of all the work stressors BEFORE you get home. This kind of letting go may also add more meaning to your home life. A friend of mine gave me a good suggestion and I will pass it on to you. If it works, GREAT! If not, try something else. On the way home, roll down your window and think about the problems at work. Now, one at a time, throw them out the window!!! I use to use people's names. You know, the ones that drive you crazy! By the time you get home, hopefully you can smile about it and walk thru the door with a smile instead of "what a horrible day!" Then you see the flowers on the table.
You know, when you stop and think about it, those work problems and those people that sometimes drive you crazy will probably still be there tomorrow. So, why not leave all that "stuff" at work and enjoy your surroundings. Your environmental wellness begins with a little change of attitude. Who knows? You may find that letting go of what you are powerless over, like people, places and things will bring you some peace even when you are in the middle of your work day. How important is you environmental wellness? This all fits together. What you do have power over is how you begin to take care of yourself. Take a break!
