No matter what age or shape you are in, T'ai Chi could help in all areas of your life. It is a form of slow movements to help improve circulation, strengthen muscles and reduce stress. It does not involve force or speed like some of the other martial arts. It truly looks like "poetry in motion".
Other benefits of practicing T'ai Chi are for concentration and healthy posture. It promotes a feeling of confidence and spirituality.
Although T'ai Chi movements looks like a ballet or beautiful dance, it involves the basic movements for all of the martial arts. All the different postures, or poses, can be used when defending yourself.
If interested, check out different places in your area that offer T'ai Chi classes. Some may even allow you to participate in a few sessions to see if it is for you. It does add to you total wellbeing of body, mind and spirt.
Also, read up on it. Here are some suggestions on T'ai Chi.
